PruHealth Acquires Standard Life Healthcare

Following the acquisition that officially completed on the 1st August 2010 PruHealth is now the UK's fourth largest Private Medical Insurance provider with approximately 11% share of the market and covers 700,000 lives.

Initially, both Standard Life and PruHealth products will remain separate and will not change, however a new suite of products which will 'build on the best' of both Standard Life and PruHealth products is expected in late 2010 / early 2011.

A transitional brand will be used for all existing Standard Life policies, which will be referred to as “PruHealth Previously Standard Life Healthcare” - this brand will appear on all claims and renewal documents for 12 months and will be phased out afterwards.
